Terms of service

Last updated 2026-10-22

Synthetic media of real people requires documented consent

You may only register a presenter, or clone a voice, if you are that person or you hold written consent from that person. Uploading the likeness or voice of anyone else — including colleagues, public figures, political figures and minors — is prohibited and will result in immediate termination and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement.

Acceptance

These terms govern your use of DocPresenter. By creating an account or submitting content you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.

The service

DocPresenter converts presentation files into video containing a digital presenter that narrates your slides. Output is machine-generated and may contain errors in timing, pronunciation or emphasis. You are responsible for reviewing output before you publish it.

Likeness and voice consent

  • Registering a presenter requires an explicit declaration, at the point of upload, that you are the person depicted or that you hold their written consent.
  • Voice cloning requires you to confirm in writing that you own the voice or hold consent to use it, and every clone is logged with the email and consent record behind it.
  • We may request evidence of consent at any time. Failure to produce it is grounds for suspension without refund.
  • You may withdraw consent for a presenter you registered at any time; we will delete the registration and any rendered output that has not already been downloaded.

Prohibited content

You may not use the service to create content that:

  • Depicts the likeness or voice of any person without their documented consent.
  • Depicts public figures, political figures, or any person in a political context.
  • Depicts minors in any form.
  • Is presented in a way intended to deceive viewers about whether a real person said or did something, outside of clearly labelled synthetic media.
  • Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes another party's rights.
  • Contains malware, or attempts to gain unauthorised access to the service or other users' content.

We may remove content and suspend accounts for violations, and we may disclose information to authorities where legally required.

Your content

You retain all rights to the decks, scripts, presenter footage and rendered videos you create. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to operate the service. On self-hosted deployments we never receive them, and this licence does not arise.

Beta status

The service is currently in private beta. Features may change or disappear, output quality may vary, and capacity is limited. Pilot access is granted at our discretion and may be withdrawn. We do not commit to any service level during the beta.

Fees and credits

  • Rendering consumes credits. A hold is placed before a job starts; it is captured on success and released in full on failure.
  • Editing a script and regenerating audio is free until you render.
  • Fees are stated in the order or licence agreement. Self-hosted annual licences are not metered per video.
  • Refunds are at our discretion and, during the beta, handled case by case.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for a violation of the consent or prohibited-content sections, for non-payment, or where required by law. On termination we delete your content in line with our Privacy policy.

Warranties

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that output will be error-free, that it will meet your requirements, or that the service will be uninterrupted. You are responsible for the accuracy of the scripts you approve and publish.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload, including any claim that you lacked rights to a likeness or voice.

Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify account holders by email at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
